Very nice campsite in a ideal location. Pool ideal to keep children entertained but as a consequence can become busy. Facilties good however the older shower block is in need of an upgrade. Would recommend
pitches for camper van without access to water and electricity is far. no animation. no entertainment. very basic toilets and showers. dirty. no staff. noone supervising the pool.. etc etc we really felt that it did not deserve to be called a 4 star campsite... food trucks were ok. hygiene norms are not respected at the pool with everyone wearing shorts and lack of supervision results in safety norms not being respected on the water slides where adults kids and teenagers alike often get up to dangerous tricks. definitely does Not live up to being called a 4 star establishment. small beach is a walk away. do not expect a typical Breton stay at this place. staff are nonexistent and cold at best.
We were looking forward to this campsite because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint. Friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms and great other facilities. The only slight drawback is the pitches do feel quite close together and it's hard to get any privacy. On the other hand though, the openness allows the pitches to have great views of the castle and the feeling around the site is relaxed and welcoming.
This was our second stay at Camping de Penboch and we're already planning a return. We love being able to secure extra large pitches as we usually bring our dinghy and kayak - and the ability to store the boat in particular is fantastic. …
